June 2008 Beaded Star Crystal Pendant Project

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month, I would like to feature the instruction on a beaded crystal star pendant made with Japanese glass beads and Swarovski crystals using the right weave technique.

Beaded Crystal Star Pendant

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

What you need:
1)  Size 11/0 glass beads (black)
2)  Size 4mm red crystals
3)  Beading string (0.25mm)

Always pull tight on every step!

Step 1:
  • Cut one piece of string around 10 cm long.

Add on one end of the string, one crystal, one bead, one crystal, one bead until you get five beads and five crystals to form a beaded circle - ending with a bead.
Tie the two ends together (shown where both arrows are coming out from) and pass the remaining string back through the piece before cutting away the excess.
Step 2:
  • Cut a new piece of string around half a meter long.

Add at the middle of the string one crystal, three beads on each side of the strings (total of 6), one crystal on each side of the string (total of 2), three beads on each side of the strings (total of 6), one crystal on each side of the string (total of 2), one bead on each side of the string (total of 2) and one last bead to crisscross both strings through (shown where both arrows are coming out from).
Step 3:
  • Continue to:

Take one end of the string, add two new beads, pass the same string up through one bead from the bead circle from step 1.
Add two beads, pass the same string through the one bead from bead circle from step 2.

Repeat the above two more times.

Do the same for the other side of the string until this string meets with the other side of the string, you can tie a little knot but do not cut away excess.

Continue to pass the longer end up through one bead, one crystal and one bead from the bead circle from step 2.
Add 7 new beads and loop back and tie off.
