Make your own recycled bottle Fishing Trap - March 2008

Here's a list of FREE kid Art and Science project, to help promote creativity and imagination with these arts and craft project and arts craft idea made from simple materials. This month March 2008 make a cool fishing trap by recycling plastic bottles.

Project of the Month (March)

Make your own Fish Trap!

You will Need:
1)   Large plastic soda bottles (straight body)
2)   Scissor, ice pick or large needle
3)  Thick nylon fishing lines.
Step 1: Ask for adult help in the cutting and punching of holes.

Remove the plastic screw cap. Cut the large plastic bottle at the place shown in the picture by the red line. (using the ratio of around 1:3)
Step 2: Invert the top portion upside down into the bottom portion of the plastic bottle.
Punch 3 holes with either an ice pick or large needles.
Tie 3 separate nylon fishing lines in each hole and tie them together with another piece of longer nylon line.
Step 3: Drop some fish bait of either fish meat or shrimp meat into the bottom of the bottle.
Time to go fishing!
Submerge the fish trap into the fishing water area and wait.
Fishes will swim in from the top and get trapped.
