Project of the Month (November)

Make your own Sock Snowman

You will Need:
1)  Cleaned and dry white sock OR any stretchable white fabric
material. Little piece of red cloth or sock material for the hat.
2)  Two different size of Styrofoam balls or just make paper balls
     by squashing some newspaper
3)  One orange button, two black buttons and three red buttons.
4)  Red pipe cleaners.
5) Scissors, needle, thread and glue.
Step 1:
  • Take the clean white sock, add in the bigger ball first then followed by the smaller ball.
  • Take a red pipe cleaner, tie it around the sock area between the two balls (this will become the snowman's scarf).
  • You can use another small piece of pipe cleaner or just any string to tie the top of the sock right on top of the small ball.
  • Cut away excess socks. Add some glue to the tip to prevent the opening from fraying and opening up.
Step 2:
  • Take the small piece of red sock or fabric, make a little hat and sew it on to the top of the snowman's head (make sure the hat covers the cut away white sock tie on the top of the head from step 1).
  • Now either sew on or glue on the black buttons as the eyes, orange button for the nose and the red buttons as buttons on the snowman's body.
  • You can now add a thread or ribbon on either by sewing or gluing at the tip of the snowman's hat to hang as a ornament.
