 Flat Brick Stitch Instruction

The beading instruction on flat brick stitch is probably the easier brick stitch to learn compared to the circular and tubular brick stitch.  The brick stitch is done by attaching new beads to the line / thread that connects the beads from the previous row.

Flat Brick Stitch

Notes before you start: For beginners, start with size 11 seed beads.  The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.  You can use a string and needle or Nylon fishing line (0.25mm) without the needle.

Step 1: String 2 beads and loop the line back through the first (blue) bead then the second (red) bead.
Add one more bead (blue) and loop the line back through the second (red) bead then back through the new bead (blue).
Keep repeating this until you have reached the length you desire.

Tip: You can loop the line twice instead of once for a more stable work.
Step 2: Note: the lines from the first row is represented in green line.
Second Row: add 2 beads and string the line across the line connecting the last two beads of the first row, then string the line back through the second bead added. (green)
Pull on the line and make sure the new bead sits on the first row like a new added brick.

Continue by adding one bead at a time and string the line across the next connecting line from the first row - followed by stringing the line back through the new added bead, repeat this until you have reached the end of the row.

For each new row, repeat step 2 by adding 2 beads first then followed by adding one bead at a time.
