April 2005 Crystal Ball Pendent

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project.  This month's project is a beaded crystal ball pendent or hang it on a key chain, mobile phone accessory.

Crystal Ball Pendent :

What you need:

1)    Fishing line (0.25 mm).
2)    30 round crystals
3)    Scissors

Step 1: Cut a piece of fishing line (around 15 cm, depending on your Crystal size), string 5 beads and cross the string on the 5th crystal and pull to tighten.

String another 4 crystals on one end of the line and cross the string at the last crystal added. Tighten and string the line near the first crystal circle back to the second crystal of the first five crystal circle.
Step 2: Continue to add 3 crystals on the line represented in red and cross both lines through the last added crystal.

String the line nearest to the first crystal circle back through the crystal next to the last crystal added.
Step 3: Continue to add 3 crystals and cross the line through the last added crystal.

String the line nearest to the first crystal circle back through the crystal next to the last crystal added.

Now you should know the sequence so continue adding 3 crystals again and repeat the above step.

The last step for now is to add 2 crystals (not 3) and string the end nearest to the first crystal circle back through 2 adjoining crystals and finish off again by crossing at the last added
crystal.

Then String the end represented by black arrow through the next adjoining crystal as shown.
Step 4a: String 3 crystals and cross the  line through the last added crystal.

String the line ( nearest to the half completed crystal ball - represented by the black line)  back through 2 crystals next to the last crystal added.
Step 4b: String 2 crystals and cross the line through the last added crystal.

String the line (nearest to the half completed crystal ball - represented by the red line for this step).

Repeat this step for two more times.

For the last step add one crystal and cross the lines through this crystal.

Step 5: By now you should get a round crystal ball, tie off and string the remaining string back into the crystal ball (no sequence).

You can now attach a chain through the crystal ball to wear as a pendent, attach a string and tie on to your mobile phone as an accessory or attach a key ring for a key chain.
