February 2007 Beaded Open Crystal Heart Project

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month's project is a crystal beaded open heart pendant or charm made with Japanese seed beads and Swarovski crystals using the Right Angle Weave technique (RAW). Great as a fashion accessory or as a jewelry gift.

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Step 9:
  • Now that you get the basic idea, we will be going a little faster.

    Continue by:

    1. On top (blue) string add one silver bead, one crystal; on the
bottom (black) string add one silver bead, one crystal, one
last silver bead to crisscross the other end of string through.

    2. On the top right (black) string, add one crystal, one silver
bead; on the bottom left (blue) string, add one crystal, one
silver bead, one crystal to crisscross the other end of the
        string through.

    3. On the left (black) string, add one silver bead, one crystal, one
silver bead; on the right (blue) string, add two silver bead and
one crystal to crisscross the other end of the string through.

    4. On the top left (blue) string, add one silver bead, one crystal,
one silver bead; on the bottom right (black) string, add one
silver bead and one crystal to crisscross the other end of the
        string through.

    5. On the top (black) string, add one silver bead, one crystal, one
silver bead; on the bottom (blue) string, add one silver bead
and one crystal to crisscross the other end of the string
        through.

    6. On the top (blue) string, add one silver bead, one crystal; On
the bottom (black) string, add one silver bead, crisscross this
end of the string through one crystal from step one (shown
where both arrow is coming out of, tie off.

Make one more heart by repeating from step 1 to 9.

Step 10:
  • Joining up the heart:

Cut a new piece of string around half a meter long, add one new silver bead at the middle of the string, pass the top string through the two silver bead from the top piece of the beaded heart, do the same for the bottom string but through the two silver beads from other beaded heart piece, add one new silver bead to crisscross both strings through.
Note: you should see a bead circle.

Pass the top string through the two crystal (the very top center of the heart), do the same for the bottom string but through the other two crystal from the other piece of beaded heart. Add one new silver bead to crisscross.

Keep doing the passing through and making seed bead circle all around the heart both on the inside and on the outside. Which means you have to cut one piece of string for joining up the inside of the heart and one piece for joining up the outside of the heart.

TIP: I would suggest you start with the inside first.
