May 2005 Beaded Star Pendent

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project.  This month's project is a beaded star pendant or hang it on a key chain, mobile phone accessory.

Beaded Star Pendent :

What you need:

1)    Fishing line (0.25 mm).
2)    12 4mm crystals
3)    18 seed beads
4)    24 long bugle beads
5)    Scissors

Step 1: Cut a piece of fishing line (around 15 cm to 25cm), string 6 beads and cross the string on the 6th bead and pull to form a bead ring. (keep both side of the string balanced)

Using one string, pick up one crystal, followed by one long bugle bead, one seed bead, one long bugle bead and finally one more crystal (continue to pass the string through the adjoining seed bead from the bead ring), now cross the other string through this last crystal added.
Step 2: Continue with the string pointing up (red line) by adding a long bugle bead, a seed bead, a long bugle bead and a crystal (continue to pass the string through the adjoining seed bead from the bead ring), cross the other string through this last added crystal.
Step 3: Now you should get the idea, so continue to repeat this step 2, until you reach the first added crystal, end off the last star point by adding one bugle bead on each string, adding one last seed bead and crossing both string though this bead.
Step 4: Using the string pointing down (black line) and add one long bugle bead, one crystal, 6 seed beads (to make another bead ring like step 1), cross the line back through the first seed bead added, add one crystal and one long bugle bead (cross both line through this long bugle bead.
Step 5: String the line pointing to your left (red line) through the last added crystal and the adjoining seed bead from the bead ring.
Continue to add one crystal and one long bugle bead, crossing both lines through both.

String the same (red line) line through the next tip of the star (seed bead)
Step 5: Continue doing this until you achieve an overlapping star over the first star.

Tie off and you can attach a pendant hoop on one of the tip of the 3-D star and wear it as a pendant or simply string your chain though the star and wear it as a choker.
