Project of the Month (May)

Make your own Pressed Flower Bookmark

You will Need:
1)   Transparency (thick transparent paper / plastic sheet) .
2)   Fresh or dried flowers that you would like to be in the bookmark (not too big as you will need it to fit into the bookmark)

3)   Scissor / hole puncher / Iron (for ironing clothes) .
Step 1:  Cut two rectangle pieces out of the transparency around 12cm by 5cm or any size you want your bookmark to be (tip: you can even cut it into different shapes like heart shape).
Step 2:  Take one piece of the rectangle transparency you cut out, place it on top of a piece of regular paper (for easier pick up later) start arranging the flower or flower petals you have on one side of the rectangle, you can even put a non glossy photo in there (note: you do not need to stick it down with glue)

After you have finished with the arrangement, carefully place the other sheet of transparency directly on top of this arranged piece.

Carefully carry this to the ironing board, place a piece of cloth or towel to cover on top of the craft work, switch on the iron and iron on the towel for a few minutes (make sure you have adult supervision on this one).

After ironing, do not attempt to pick up the piece immediately, just remove the towel and let the craft cool down for 15 minutes.

Take the hole puncher and punch a hole on the top of the bookmark you just made, string a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie it.

You have made your own personalized pressed flower bookmark!
