Christmas ElfA children's folklore character of Santa Claus' helpers - green-clad tiny beings with pointy ears and long noses as Santa's assistants. Whom believes to wraps the gifts at Christmas and help make toys in a workshop located in the North Pole (Santa's Workshop). These elves slightly resemble nimble and delicate versions of the dwarves of Norse mythology. The vision of the small but crafty Christmas elf has come to influence modern popular conception of elves.
An elf is also a creation creature of Germanic paganism which still survives in northern European folklore. The elves were often pictured as youthful-seeming men and women of great beauty living in forests and underground places like in wells and springs.
