September 2009 Beaded Crystal Ring Project

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month, I would like to feature the instruction on a beaded crystal and bugle ring made with Swarovski crystals and long bugle beads.

Beaded Crystal Ring

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Beaded Crystal Ring

What you need:
1)  4mm crystals (color of your choice).
2)  Long bugle beads (size 11/0 or size 10/0).
3)  Beading string or wire (0.25mm).
Step 1:
  • Cut a piece of string around half a meter long.
  • Add four crystals and crisscross both strings through the last added crystal, shown where both arrow exits.
  • Make sure your piece is slide to the center of the string, balance out both side of the string equally.

Step 2: Continue to:
  • Add one long bugles on each side of the string and add one last round crystal to crisscross both string through. (shown where both arrows exits from)
Step 3: Continue to:
  • Add one crystal on each side of the string and add one last crystal to crisscross both string through. (shown where both arrows exits from)
  • Now Keep repeating step 2 and 3 until you have almost reach the length of ring you need. (remember to stop around one one centimeter before you reached the actual ring size)
Step 4: Joining:
  • When you have almost reach the length needed, add one long bugles on each side of the string and pass only one side of the string through the very first round crystal added in step 1.
Tie off and pass the excess string back through the piece for a more secure piece.
  • You can make a bracelet using the same technique but you might need one more item which is a clasps.
