January 2005 Pearl Cross

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project.  This month's project is a pearl beaded cross where you can use on a rosary, as a pendent, key chain, mobile phone accessory or more if you can think of it.

Pearl Cross:

What you need:

1)    Cut 3 Fishing line (0.25 mm) approximately 70 to 90 cm each.
2)    104 Beads / Pearls size 3 mm and above.

Step 1: String 5 pearls and cross the fishing line through one and pull tight.

Step 2: String 3 more pearls and cross through the middle pearl (second pearl).
String 4 pearls on both left and right line, cross each line back to the first pearl.  Similar on both side.

Step 3: Cross the line back the 2nd and 3rd pearl from step 2.
String 4 pearls and cross back the First bead in this step.

Step 4: Cross the line back the 4th and 1st pearl from step 2.
String and cross one pearl with both line.
String 3 pearls and cross through the middle pearl (second pearl in this step), repeat this 3 time.

Step 5: String 5 pearls and tie.
Repeat step 1 - 5 and make one more. (make two pieces)

Step 6: with a new line, add one pearl in the middle and string each end through one of the pearl from cross (must be the same positioned pearl).  Add one pearl and cross through it, carry on doing this and adding pearl on the next pearl that comes after, until you have totally string together the two cross.
You now have a 3D cross.  You can add a string and use it as a hand phone accessory or add a key ring and use it as a key chain, and much more uses, limited only by your imagination.
