August 2007 Beaded Crystal Bead Project

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month, I would like to feature the instruction on an elegant beaded bead pendant made with glass seed beads and Swarovski crystals that you can make for yourself or your love ones.

Beaded Crystal Bead

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Beaded Bead

What you need:

1)   4mm or 5mm Swarovski crystals (12 pieces)
2)   Black seed beads (11/0)
3)   Beading string (0.25mm)

Always pull tight on every step!

Step 1:
  • Cut one piece of string around 1/2 meter long.

String on one crystal, one bead, one crystal, one bead, one crystal, one bead, one crystal and one bead (a total of four crystals and 4 beads). Crisscross the other end of the string through the first added crystal, make sure you move the beaded circle to the middle of your string (the red dot marks the middle of the string).
Step 2:
  • Continue by:
Adding on BOTH side of the strings, one seed bead, one crystal, one bead (total of four beads and two crystals). Add one last crystal on one side of the string and crisscross the other end through this last added crystal.
  • Repeat this step exactly one more time.
Step 3:
  • The bottom lightened piece is where you stopped at from step 2. The top is where you first started from step 1. Now you are joining up the top and bottom to form a ring.
  • Add on BOTH side of the strings, one seed bead, one crystal, one seed bead (total of 2 crystals and 4 seed beads). Follow by crisscrossing both ends of the strings through the crystal on the top from step 1.
Step 4:
  • Continue to:
Add on BOTH ends of the strings, two seed beads (total of four), add one to crisscross both ends of the string through. On Both ends of the strings add two seed beads (total of four), crisscross both strings through the crystal on its top (shown where both arrows are coming out from).
  • Repeat this step exactly 4 more time upwards.
Step 5: Tie up and pass the excess of strings back through the piece to get a more secure knot and piece that would not come loose so easily. Pass a thin necklace chain through the center of the beaded crystal bead and wear it as a fashionable necklace pendant.
