July 2006 Beaded Victorian Pendant Project

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month's project is a beaded Victorian pendant made with seed beads and Swarovski Crystals

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

Beaded Pendant :

What you need:

1)    Glass seed beads size 11/0 (black)
2)    Crystal bicones (20 pcs of 4mm black)
3)    Beading string (25mm or 25 gauge)
4)    One Pendant hook

Step 1: Always Remember to pull tight on EVERY STEP.

I'm using green color in the diagram to show the steps and lines drawn but you are actually using black beads and black crystals.

Cut a piece of string around a meter long.

Add 4 seed beads at the middle of this string and crisscross the both ends through the last added bead. (remember to balance out both ends of the string so that they are of the same length)

Step 2: Take the top (black) end of the string, add one crystal, one seed bead, one crystal, one seed bead and one last crystal. Cross the bottom string (red) through the last added one crystal. Remember to further pass the black end of the line through one seed bead (the bottom bead) from step 1, before you proceed to the next step.

Step 3: This step is similar with step 2 except for the number of crystals added.

Take the right (red) end of the string, add one seed bead, one crystal, one seed bead and one last crystal (which you would cross the left / black line through) and further pass the red line through the seed bead (left bead) from step 1.

Step 4: Now repeat step 3 exactly for one more time (which will form the left side of the diagram shown) but when you are ending it, after you string through the bead from step 1 and also go further by stinging through the first crystal added on step 2.

Then continue to form the top of the diagram shown: add on one seed bead, one crystal and one last seed bead; next cross the other end of the line (black through the last added seed bead); then string the red line further through the next adjoining seed bead (skipping one crystal) as shown in the diagram.

Step 5: Continue on the outer layer of the bead circles:
Add 5 seed beads on the top (black) end of the string, cross the other end of the string through the last added bead, pass the previous black string further through one crystal as shown where the black arrow is coming out of.
Step 6: Take the top (red) line, add one crystal, one seed bead, one crystal, one seed bead, one crystal, one last seed bead, cross the other end of the line (black) through the last added seed bead, pass the red line further through the two seed bead on the left as shown.
Step 7: Now Take the top (black) line, add 4 seed beads, cross the other end (red) of the line through the last added bead, string the black line further through one crystal on it's side - as shown where the black arrow comes out of.
Step 8: Now you will need to repeat step 6 and 7 as follows:
Repeat step 6 then step 7 then step 6 then step 7 one last time. (all these are shown with the dotted lines)

Last step: with each end of the lines coming out of the two seed beads on the top, add one crystal on each side of the lines, add one more to crisscross both lines through, continue to add two seed beads on each end of the lines and add the pendant hook to crisscross both lines through, tie off and string the excess thread back through your piece (no fixed order - just to hide the string and strengthens the knot piece).
