October 2006 Beaded Sequin Necklace Project

You can find a variety of Free Arts and Craft Project here, including beaded project and other project. This month, I would like to feature the instruction on a beaded sequin necklace that you can make for yourself or your love ones.

Beaded Sequin Necklace

The pictorials are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction, in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.

What you need:

1)    Small 1/3 inch sequins.
2)    Silver white glass seed beads (size 11/0)
3)    Beading string 0.25mm

Step 1: Cut a piece of thread around a meter long.
String on one end of the jewelry clasps you have at the exact middle of the string (any end).

Add one bead on one end of the line, cross the other end of the line in the opposite direction into the same bead. (note do not pull tight, let it hang naturally loose)

Follow by adding one sequin on one end of the line, cross the other line into the sequin from the opposite direction, again do not pull tight.

Repeat the above (one bead, one sequin, one bead, one sequin......) until you get the length of necklace you need.
Step 2:

Once you have reached the length you need, string on a clamp bead with both lines in the same direction, loop both lines through the loop in the other end of the clasps and back into the clamp bead, using a narrow head pliers, clamp the clamp bead flat into a flat rectangle tightly.
